MBCHB University of Leeds 2009, MRCGP, PGCE

I qualified as a Doctor in 2009 from the University of Leeds, completing my GP training in Calderdale and Huddersfield in 2014. Following the completion of my training, I felt honoured to be offered a position at Kirkburton Health Centre in September 2014. I have recently completed the Post Graduate Certificate in GP education (PGCE) becoming a GP trainer in February 2017. I am the Diabetic lead for the practice, in addition to being the assigned Caldicott Guardian. My Clinical Interests include: Joint injections. Ear, nose and throat problems. Diabetes care.

After graduating from medical school in 2006 I returned to Huddersfield to complete my GP training. During this time I worked at Kirkburton as a registrar, and then spent 3 years working as a GP in Halifax. I was delighted to be invited to return to Kirkburton in 2015.

I have been a GP trainer since the completion of my Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Care Education (PGCE) in 2015. When I am not working at the practice I work as one of the Training Programme Directors for the local GP training scheme.

I enjoy the variety which General Practice presents, however my particular clinical interests are contraceptive and sexual health, woman and children's health. I am trained to fit and remove contraceptive implants and coils.

After qualifying as a doctor from the University of Leicester, I moved back to my home town of Sheffield in 2009 where I undertook postgraduate training in general medicine. Having initially sub-specialised in genitourinary medicine and gained membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2013, I decided to switch to general practice, and completed my training in 2019. I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join the staff at Kirkburton Health Centre, and look forward to developing a special interest in contraception, and teaching the medical students attached to the practice.

General Practicioner

I graduated from Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School in 1991. I worked in and around Newcastle working in both General Practice and Accident & Emergency Department for many years where I provided a GP service to A&E patients and also had a role training Nurse practitioners in A&E and 3 local Walk-in Centres. I also worked one session a week in the Children's Accident & Emergency Department. I relocated to Yorkshire in 2015 and initially worked as a locum in and around Huddersfield & Leeds. I am now happy to be permanently based in Kirkburton where I work as a salaried GP.

Dr S Dabhad (f)

I qualified as a doctor in 2014 from the University of Leicester. I then returned to Yorkshire to complete my GP training at Calderdale and Huddersfield in 2019. I worked as a GP registrar at Kirkburton Health Centre and was delighted to be offered a position as a salaried GP working (Monday, Thursday and Friday). Going forward I intend to build on my knowledge and skills in womens health.

Dr S Beaumont (f)

After qualifying as a doctor at the University of Manchester in 2011, I returned to my home town of Huddersfield to complete my foundation year training and then GP training. I undertook my final year of GP training at Kirkburton Health Centre, qualifying as a GP in March 2018. Following this I locumed locally as a GP but was delighted to return to Kirkburton Health Centre as a salaried GP in January 2019. I work Mondays and Tuesdays and continue to locum at local practices the rest of the week.

Dr S Highcock (f)

I qualified as a Doctor from King's college London in 2012 and spent my foundation years in Wales and then trained as a GP in Sheffield completing my training in 2018. Since qualifying I have completed the diploma in hygiene and tropical medicine in East Africa and worked in New Zealand for 6 months as well as working as a locum in Sheffield in various practices. I'm very pleased to join the Kirkburton team as a long term locum for the next 6 months.

After qualifying as a doctor from the University of Manchester in 2014, I returned to my home town of Huddersfield to undertake foundation training and then GP training. I have worked in a number of specialities in the local area as part of my training including paediatrics, A&E, psychiatry and obstetrics and gynaecology. I am undertaking the last part of my GP training at Kirkburton Health Centre and will be at the practice until October 2020.

I qualified as a doctor in 2015 from University of Leeds. My foundation training was completed in Lincolnshire and Hull. I returned back to Yorkshire to get married and to start my GP training. I am currently in my last year of training and will be at the Practice until February 2021.

Dr M Boro (f)

After qualifying as a doctor from U.M.S.T in Khartoum I completed my 2 years foundation training in Blackpool. I then initially started training in general hospital medicine in South Yorkshire before switching to General Practice training at the Calderdale and Huddersfield scheme in 2018. I look forward to staying at Kirkburton Health Centre until the end of my training in November 2021.
