Appointments can be made by either calling at the surgery, by telephoning 01484 602040 between 08:00 – 18:00 weekdays or online via the above link. To book urgent appointments our phone lines open at 08:00am. To book non-urgent appointments please telephone between 11:30 and 16:00.
Please tell the receptionist if the appointment is for more than one person, or if you feel you may need more than the usual 12 minutes.
Our reception staff have been trained by the partners to ask what your appointment is regarding, this is so that we can triage appropriately. Making sure you get the care you need, when you need it and that it is delivered by the appropriate health care clinician. Please note that this may not always be a Doctor, and in some cases may be an Advanced clinical practitioner or a Nurse.
The Appointment System - How it works
There will be a clinician “on call” each day, dealing with urgent problems for that day. If you are unsure whether or not your problem is urgent you will always be able to speak to the clinician on call that day. We also keep a number of appointments in reserve every day to deal with urgent matters that can not wait until the next routine appointment.
Due to the nature of the urgent clinic, we will attempt to accommodate, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee compliance with any requests. Inclusive of, but not limited to:

There are always routine and urgent appointments available, but not necessarily with the doctor of your choice. We have developed this system to deal with the problems and priorities that we see, but we are always willing to accept feedback and comments and view them in a positive light.
The doctors can be consulted for advice on the telephone. Please ask for a telephone appointment when you ring the surgery. You will be given an appointment time and the doctor will ring you back at approximately that time.
You can book online appointments simply by clicking on the hyperlink at the top of the page or on the Home Page. To register for this service, please see a member of the reception team with proof of ID. All routine appointments with a GP are available online. You can also register for online ordering of your repeat prescriptions.
Annual Review Reference Codes
If you are recalled for an annual review, you will find the reference codes at the top of the letter, SMS or email. You may be recalled for more than one review, so please be sure to check the reference code before deciding you have already been seen to. The reference codes are as follows:

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you fail to attend for three appointments you may be removed from this practice list and will have to find an alternative doctor. We would like to thank our patients for attending 93.8% of appointments in May 2019.
Did Not Attend Policy (DNA)
If you fail to turn up for an appointment without giving reason, the Practice will keep a record of this. Each time you fail to attend, we will write to you. If you fail to attend four appointments in a 12 month period, the practice will consider removing you from the patient list. You will then have to find an alternative GP practice in the local area. The practice are currently working on including care navigation. This is a process where our receptionists can send you to the best point of health care quicker, rather than having to come through the GP first. For example, if what you are describing matches the need for an Optician or a Pharmacist, they will be able to directly send you there.
There have recently been a few additions in the services we are able to signpost patients to. These include Locala Sexual Health, Dental services, Smoking Cessation, Drugs and Alcohol and Re-ablement.
